Fundamentally a problem-solver, I believe that what may initially appear creative is really grounded in functionality.
Working for so long in a production environment has greatly influenced the way in which I approach design problems.
Having first worked as a designer in an advertising agency, I ultimately spent a good portion of my career in print production environments working largely with advertising and display.
Now engaged in a dual-role as both designer and instructor, I find that each of these activities benefits the other.
I enjoy working as an instructor – and I like to make the training an enjoyable experience for the learner also. I approach every training event with the learner’s interest as paramount – and that means listening, not just delivery.
As Ireland's only Adobe Certified Expert in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop - I feel I am in a unique position to offer meaningful training.*
It’s a real pleasure to guide people through creative software; to enable learners to overcome something that may have seemed intimidating or unknowable, gaining confidence and proficiency both in the short-term and building a foundation for future learning and development.
Training is interactive, with practical exercises to help students to see features in action. The training structure is customised to meet the students’ requirements… with lots of tips & tricks, and a bit of fun along the way.

The allure of the visual, combined with right message, transforms the mundane to create powerful communication.
Technology drives us on all the time, but good design is still underpinned by human endeavour.
How can I tire of design! It is both technical and creative; its boundaries blurred by diverse interests such as marketing, copywriting and illustration; stretches from the hand-crafted to the coded; it challenges our mental agility like no other activity!
For all that I like to keep things simple. Before taking pencil to paper – every project is guided by a shared understanding of what the client hopes to achieve. A project rooted in good communication will always lead to a good outcome.
Making sure that your project reaches the target audience is paramount. This may mean supplying visual assets for a successful marketing campaign; online content that appeals to the desired market or simply ensuring that your documents make the right statement about your enterprise.
